Compressor servicing is the maintenance and repair of the compressor and other vital components of your air-conditioning system. The compressor is often referred to as the “heart of an air-conditioning system” because the compressor takes the refrigerant and passes it through the two units of the machine, which need to be working efficiently and properly.

What Is Included in Compressor Servicing?
- Compressor inspection – Looks for anything unusual about the compressor like damage, high temperatures or noises. Electrical testing – Checks the wiring, capacitors, electrical connections, voltage, current and terminals.
- Refrigerant pressure check – Measures the refrigerant pressure to help determine the source of the problem.
- Leak inspection – Detects any refrigerant or oil leaks around the compressor and other associated parts.
- Cleaning – Cleans dirt and debris off parts of the outdoor-unit to allow for better heat dissipation.
- Testing performance – Looks at the cooling performance, compressor working conditions and overall efficiency of the air conditioning.
- Sound and vibration check – Finds any irregular sounds or high levels of vibrations that could be signs of a mechanical problem.

Performance Test

When Compressor Servicing Is Not Enough
- Severe Compressor Damage – If the compressor has internal or mechanical damage, replacement may be needed.
